Cancer
  • Men have a slightly less than 1 in 2 lifetime risk of developing some form of cancer. For women, the lifetime risk is a little more than 1 in 3.
  • From 1996 - 2002, the 5-year relative survival rate for all cancers was 66%, up from 51% in 1975 - 1977.

  • In 2008, it is estimated that Americans will pay about $172 billion in health expenditures for heart diseases and another $114 billion in lost productivity due to heart disease.
